Second son of the first emperor Yan Xin, a recluse scholar, unlike his elder brother the crown prince. When the Yan dynasty fell he retreated into hiding in the mountains, thus preserving his life, and was eventually forgotten by the world. He studied under and became an immortal disciple of the Moon Venerable, becoming a monk and taking on the monk name "Wuxuan"
