In that ancient era, the skies were chaotic and ever-changing, just as the rivers and mountains were orderly. That was as Asyr , who created the heavens, was the embodiment of chaos and disorder, and Xiron , who created the earth, was the embodiment of order and harmony.

Xuanhai and his brother Canghai, seeing the suffering of the common people, and the wild and unenlightened nature of their own kind, wished to use their power to help all under heaven. Defying heaven, they commanded the primordial sky to calm, creating peace and prosperity. In the night they became twin moons that shone calming light, suppressing the ghosts and terrors that lurk in the darkness.

Hence the heavens were calmed, and people rejoiced, giving the brothers incense and prayer; however this act that defied heaven, defied the creator Asyr , brought her ire down upon them. As they were of divine blood, "family" even in a sense, she could not just kill them, hence she exiled the younger brother far overseas, and imprisoned the elder brother atop Damak Dai, decreeing that neither would see each other again. From that point on, the weather became a compromise of primordial chaos and controlled order; the younger brother was slowly forgotten save for in legends, and only one moon shone in the night.

"Xuanhai" and "Canghai" were style names picked by the brothers themselves. Their draconic names were long lost to time. Even the name "Xuanhai" today is uknown, as the tradition of name taboo has lead to it being avoided to such an extent that he is only known by the title "Rain God" or "Moon Venerable".
